Eligibility Criteria
For SSR & AA Entry (Sailors)
- Passed 10+2 with Maths & Physics (SSR & AA)
- Age: 17 to 21 years at time of enrollment
- Unmarried male Indian citizens only
- Must meet Indian Navy medical standards
- Physical fitness as per IN norms
For Officer Entry (CDS / NDA)
- Graduate in any discipline with min. 60% for CDS
- 10+2 with PCM for NDA & Cadet Entry
- Age: 19.5 to 25 years (varies by entry)
- Must clear SSB / ISSB Interview
- Vision and physical standards as per IN norms
For MR Entry
- Passed Class 10th / Matriculation from a recognised board
- Age: 17 to 21 years at time of enrollment
- Unmarried male Indian citizens only
- Must meet Indian Navy medical and physical standards
Indian Navy Selection Process
- Stage 1 — Written Exam: Computer-based online exam covering English, Science, Maths, and General Knowledge. Candidates must qualify in each section individually.
- Stage 2 — Physical Fitness Test (PFT): 1.6 km run in 7 minutes, 20 squats, and 10 push-ups. Must be passed by all shortlisted candidates.
- Stage 3 — Medical Examination: Full medical exam by Navy Medical Officers. Checks height, weight, vision, hearing, and overall fitness.
- Stage 4 — SSB Interview (Officer Entry only): Service Selection Board assesses Officer Like Qualities (OLQs) through psychology tests, Group Testing Officer tasks, and personal interview over 5 days.
- Stage 5 — Merit List & Enrollment: All-India merit list based on written exam + other stages. Selected candidates are called for training at INS Chilika or Indian Naval Academy.
